Because of its geographic location, Marshall County is able to draw from a labor shed area with an approximate civilian labor force of 400,000 employable adults.  Being so close to other large MSA's, approximately 25% of Marshall County's 40,000 employable adults commute outside the county to work.  The bulk of these, about 75%, commute to Huntsville.  One goal of the THE MARSHALL TEAM is to recapture some of our commuting labor force.  Recruiting and home growing a high tech industrial base to keep these workers at home is our aim.  The bulk of our small high-tech start ups have resulted from residents who got a good idea and didn't want to commute anymore.  If you are looking for a location to tap a high tech workforce, Marshall County is ripe for development.
