Matt Arnold, President / CEO
Matt Arnold is a native of Birmingham, Alabama. He began working at MCEDC in 2000 and was promoted to President/CEO in August 2001. Prior to Marshall County, he served as Economic Development Coordinator for Bibb County, Alabama. He is a graduate of the University of Montevallo and holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
He is currently the Alabama state director of the Southern Economic Development Council and a past board member of the Economic Development Association of Alabama and the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama. His community involvement includes past-president and Paul Harris Fellow of the Guntersville Rotary Club, United Way, the Boy Scouts of America and the First United Methodist Church of Guntersville. He is a 2002 graduate of the Marshall County Leadership Challenge and a member of Leadership Alabama (Class XVII). He is a past member of the University of Montevallo National Alumni Association board of directors and in 2017 was appointed by Governor Robert Bentley to serve on the University of Montevallo Board of Trustees. He is the 2013 Recipient of the President's Award from the North Alabama Industrial Development Association.
Matt resides in Guntersville he has two daughters, Madeline and Chloe and a son, Miller.
Ben Hulgan, Vice President
A native of Marshall County Alabama, Ben holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Commerce and Business Administration from The University of Alabama and a Masters in Business Administration from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama. Following undergraduate school Ben spent five years in the USAF as an Officer and Pilot, flying the B-52 during the Vietnam War, then returned to Alabama to pursue a civilian career. Ben’s career includes plant supervision, operations management and human resources management in small to medium size manufacturing organizations in various locations in North Alabama. His industry experience includes manufactured housing, textiles fiber production, food processing, electronic systems development and production, metal forming and fabrication and communications cable production.
After a 25 year career in industry, Ben joined the Marshall County Economic Development Council in October 2008 and currently serves as Vice President with primary responsibility for supporting existing business and industry within the county. Ben also serves as Executive Director of the Marshall County Manufacturers Association, a membership organization comprised of over forty member companies.
Ben is married with two sons and five grandchildren and lives in Guntersville, Alabama.
Leslie Clines, Office, Marketing and Event Coordinator
Leslie joined the team in August 2012. She is the office, events and marketing coordinator but also assists Ben with the Marshall County Manufacturers Association. She is currently working to complete the Intensive Economic Development Training Course at Auburn University and is participating in the Marshall County Leadership Challenge program. Her community involvement activities include being a Junior Achievement volunteer, a member of Sunrise Rotary and organizing the Guntersville Youth Football program with her husband Toby.
She previously worked for Madison Materials, Inc. as the accounts manager and prior to that she worked for Lockheed Martin Missiles and Space. She is a native of Limestone County. She and Toby moved to Marshall County in 2002. They have 2 sons Noah and Aidan.
